ADAS Calibration & Vehicle Safety Systems

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are essential for modern vehicle safety. At KeyCAL, we provide licensed ADAS calibration and vehicle diagnostic testing to ensure your safety features function as the manufacturer intended.

Ensuring Precision, Safety & Compliance

What Is An ADAS Calibration?

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) calibration is the process of verifying Cameras, Radars, and other ADAS components of a vehicle are aligned and functioning properly.

There are two main types of ADAS Calibration:

  • Static Calibration: Performed in a controlled environment using specialised recognition targets at a specific distance and height (determined by the vehicle manufacturer).
  • Dynamic Calibration: Involves driving the vehicle under specific conditions to allow the system to self-calibrate using real-world data.

Calibration ensures the ADAS sensors are within manufacturer specifications and tolerances and are operating as designed without faults.

Why Proper ADAS Calibration Matters?

A 1-degree misalignment at 10 meters results in an offset of approximately 17.5cm, a 3-degree misalignment at 10 meters results in an offset of approximately 52 centimeters.

This inaccuracy can result in systems like adaptive cruise control or lane departure warnings braking, steering and accelerating at the wrong times increasing the risk of accident. Ensuring sensors are correctly aligned, via ADAS calibration, are necessary to ensure proper system safety and functionality.

How It Works

Seamless Calibration for Safety & Compliance

Getting your vehicle’s ADAS recalibrated with KeyCAL is quick, efficient, and hassle-free:

1

Book an Appointment

Call us or book online for mobile or workshop calibration.

2

Vehicle Pre-scan

We perform a full system scan to document vehicle condition and detect any existing faults before beginning calibrations.

3

Calibrate & Resolve

We resolve detected faults and complete all required ADAS calibrations to manufacturer specifications.

4

Test Drive Verification

A test drive confirms all systems function correctly and that no fault codes remain.

5

Post-Scan Report

Final scan verifies calibration. We provide a detailed report with results, photos, and system status.

When do I need an ADAS calibration?
  • Vehicle involved in an accident in an area that a sensor is located
  • Sensor or bracket replacement
  • Windscreen replaced
  • Wheel alignment or change to vehicle pose
  • Aftermarket bullbar or sensor relocation
  • Fault code related to an ADAS sensor

Generally if there are no major underlying faults or damage to brackets or sensors a calibration will take 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Yes, we have fully equipped vans that can bring the calibration equipment to you, however if it is a static calibration there are certain requirements that must be met such as; level surface, adequate space (general rule of thumb is 15m long x 10m wide but it does vary depending on the vehicle and the calibration required), and controlled lighting if it is a camera calibration.

To keep things easy and transparent we offer fixed pricing for calibrations. We charge $300+GST for a single calibration. If multiple calibrations are required we charge an additional $100 per calibration. For more details on pricing please get in touch so we can explain and send through a price list. If programming of a new module is required there is an additional charge as most manufacturers now require OEM software subscriptions to perform component programming.

We have started to stock the common components that we see requiring replacement, and we are continuing to add to our stock to reduce customer downtime. Please check the online store for what we have available or get in touch for a quote and ETA on parts that we can source for you via our parts network.

Yes, we have the equipment and expertise to identify and repair wiring issues. for major harness or wiring repairs we may need to take the harness with us to our workshop as performing these while fitted to the vehicle is often not achievable.
